Kajabi Review: Should You Make the Switch?

You might have heard of Kajabi, and seen its price tag, and thought, nah, I don’t need that

Compared to other platforms that are just focused on online courses, like Teachable (starting at $29/month), Kajabi seems like it comes with a steep price tag (starting at $119/month). 

But when you see everything Kajabi offers, it’s actually a steal for the price. In fact, I’m now saving about $2,000 a year after making the switch to Kajabi in 2019. 

And if you want to jumpstart your online course business, Kajabi is the way to go because it can grow with you no matter how big your business gets. 

Plus, some of the biggest names in the business — like online marketing expert Amy Porterfield, high-performance coach Brendon Burchard, and sales trainer Grant Cardone — are using Kajabi.

Kajabi is all about innovation and its developers are always coming out with updates. Its development of security, functionality, and other tools make sure the platform is secure and fast, and its status page provides real-time updates about all of the site’s features.

New development cycles roll out frequently and here are some of the new features added for 2022, putting it ahead of the curve:

✅ One-on-one coaching 

If you're running an online business, even before you have a course or a membership site, you can start making money right away with online coaching. One-on-one coaching can be time-consuming when it comes to emails and Zoom calls. 

But this year, Kajabi rolled out its own coaching program, which means your client can schedule themselves through the platform and you can give them assignments or worksheets to read or review before your session. You can even host live sessions and upload them on Kajabi for on-demand streaming. Kajabi offers lots of options for automation, which can save you a lot of time each week. The beauty is the cost is included in your monthly Kajabi subscription fee. 

Podcasting 

Starting a podcast involves a bunch of new tech, including podcast hosting. With the exploding popularity of podcasts for marketing online courses and communities, Kajabi rolled out a platform in 2022 to host podcasts, which is again included in the price. 

✅ Improved Analytics

Providing its users with easy access to data to see how their products are performing has always been a solid feature of Kajabi. For 2022, Kajabi updated and improved its analytics with a new user interface.

The bottom line is that Kajabi just keeps getting better and better, adding new features and giving you more for your money.

Kajabi is customizable

To help make your website work for you and your branding, Kajabi has an ever-increasing library of themes that you can customize. Even a standard theme like “Encore,” which I use, makes it easy to get started.

If you aren’t a “techie” and you’re more interested in designing your content and courses than making a website “look cool,” Kajabi makes it easy for you to put all the pieces together. 

For example, you can easily host blogs on Kajabi and write posts directly on the platform. Unlike WordPress, where you might have to deal with plug-ins and themes, with Kajabi it is all integrated into one system.

On Kajabi, you can also separate your product from your offers. That means you can repurpose a product and offer it in various ways. 

Kajabi replaces marketing platforms and tools

Marketing is a necessity for any business and you might be using a platform like MailChimp to manage your email lists, newsletters, and marketing offers. One of the big draws of Kajabi is that it is all integrated into the platform. 

When it comes to marketing, you can use Kajabi for:

✅ Maintaining a membership community and tagging your members as active or inactive

Replace your sales funnels, and make a pipeline based on what you want to do, like offering a free book, or a product launch opt-in-value offer.

If you’re still asking: should I switch to Kajabi? The good news is, you don’t have to make the investment right away. I recommend easing into Kajabi with these five steps, to make sure it’s really the solution for your business. 

1. Jump into the free trial

Like most online business tools, Kajabi offers a free trial so you can explore the backend and see what you think about it. 2. Start building a website

Once you’re in, you can start replicating your website on Kajabi, or maybe going for something entirely new. Kajabi makes it easy to build out your website and you don’t need technical experience to use any of its pre-designed templates. If you do need help, the support team gets back to you quickly. 

3. Bring your email list into Kajabi

Next, you’ll want to transfer your email lists to Kajabi. If you are using MailChimp or ConvertKit, you can easily import your email lists into Kajabi directly from its people manager dashboard. The Kajabi Help Center makes it easy to see the step-by-step process to do this.

4. Start building your first product

Kajabi gives you the blueprints to create products for any kind of online course that you can imagine from memberships to mini courses. You can try different product templates to explore the possibilities.

5. Compare your new tool suite

If you get into Kajabi and play around with it for a little bit, you’ll find a new way to organize your online business, and probably eliminate the need for other tools. Then you can see how much money in subscription fees you might save every month or in a year, by moving to Kajabi.
