There are tons of choices you have to make as an online business owner.
One is whether you want to have a different piece of software for every task you need to get done — like email, marketing, web hosting, and your online course.
If that doesn’t sound like your jam (and I totally get why it wouldn’t be)… there is another option. You can use a platform like Kajabi that combines nearly all of them.
During my first few months using Kajabi in 2019, I earned $25,000 over three launches, and it continues to be a great tool for running my online business.
Kajabi takes care of everything so you can spend time creating content and connecting with your audience, instead of dealing with the technical side of running an online business.
Now obviously, Kajabi isn’t the only platform out there and it can be overwhelming to try and decide which tool is right for your business. That’s why I’ve created this guide to help you compare Kajabi to alternatives like Teachable.
If you’re serious about your online business and creating a passive income stream, Kajabi is worth considering.

I know it can be intimidating because there are so many pieces to it, so let’s take a closer look at Kajabi vs. alternatives.
Here's what we're going to cover:
Before I switched to Kajabi, I used six different tools to run my business. One of the main reasons to make the switch is to streamline your workflow process. If you’re like me, you might be using these tools in addition to your course platform:
When I switched to Kajabi, I was able to bundle all of these tools together. Before I share why Kajabi won me over, let’s take a look at what Teachable, one of Kajabi’s main competitors, offers.
Teachable can be used to set up a landing page, or an online school to sell courses. The platform also gives you statistics so you can track how much money you are making and how your courses are doing. It also gives you a forum to talk to your students through live events and hosting.
In my view, comparing Kajabi to Teachable is like comparing apples to oranges: if you are looking for a way to host courses, but aren’t interested in bundling tools for landing pages or email marketing, etc. Teachable might be a good option for you.
Kajabi used to be only an online course hosting platform like Teachable, but its creators saw the benefit of combining tools like MailChimp, WordPress, and Clickfunnels into one.
When you switch to Kajabi, you’ll have everything you need for your knowledge business all in one place. I even moved blog publishing over to Kajabi and have never looked back.
All of Kajabi’s tools speak the same language, integrate automatically with each other, and can really set you free to do the things that you're good at… I personally really like that it frees me up from worrying that all the tech is talking to each other.
When you compare Kajabi to Teachable on the surface, you might lean towards Teachable because its price is lower, but that does not tell the whole story. Let's look more closely at the pricing on each one:
When it comes to Kajabi pricing, you have these three options (when billed annually) and all have 0% transaction fees:
✅Basic for $119, fine for anyone who is just starting out, includes three products, three pipelines, unlimited lading pages and marketing emails from one website with one admin user.
✅Growth for $159, the plan I have. Maximum of 15 products, 15 pipelines (sales funnels), as well as unlimited landing pages and marketing emails from one website. You get 25,000 contacts, 10,000 active members, and 10 admin users.
✅Pro at $319. Takes you up to 100 products and pipelines, 10,000 contacts, 20,000 active members, three websites, and 25 admin users.
Teachable pricing looks lower in comparison. But, it doesn’t include integrated email marketing tools.
✅ Basic for $29, plus 5% transaction fees. Includes two admin users.
✅ Pro for $99, no transaction fees. Includes five admin users.
✅Business for $249, no transaction fees and includes 20 admin-level users.
Both Kajabi and Teachable also have an affiliate program with a commission for courses sold.
However, if you look at the services that Kajabi offers for the price, you’re actually saving money, and Kajabi is an incredible value for what you get. Before Kajabi, I was spending more than $200 a month on my online course tools:
With Kajabi, you will end up saving money without having to pay for all of these services every month. You can replace Squarespace, Wix or WordPress, payment processors, analytics tools, ConverKit, AWeber, and MailChimp with Kajabi.
Teachable, Kartra, or Thinkific can all be replaced with Kajabi, and overall, I’m saving about $2,000 a year over what I used to spend on all of the tools for my business.

If you still aren’t convinced that switching to Kajabi can take your business to the next level and save you money, here are four reasons why I’ve found that Kajabi is better than its competitors.
When you look at the actual tools that you get on Kajabi for what you pay, it is a steal. It’s not only about what you can do on the platform, but also how smoothly it runs and how well it integrates. When you compare dollar for dollar what you get, Kajabi wins every time.
When you switch to Kajabi, you’ll be using the same platform that is trusted by major online business owners like online marketing expert Amy Porterfield, high-performance coach Brendon Burchard, and sales trainer Grant Cardone. It has the back end, support, infrastructure, and bandwidth to handle tons of customers, no matter how big your brand gets. If you're looking to grow your business, the platform will facilitate that growth, while the price will stay the same.
Everyone knows that technology is in flux and Kajabi’s development of security, functionality, and features make sure the platform is secure and fast. New development cycles roll out frequently and its status page provides real-time updates about all of the site’s features.
A lot of Kajabi’s competitors have training platforms to help you grow your business, but Kajabi University stands ahead of the rest. The courses, training, and resources help you get started to create your courses and landing pages, and increase enrollment. Re-launched last November, it offers 350+ training videos taught by top marketing professionals and industry experts. Plus its free!
If you're just starting out and you want to get on the best platform from the beginning, I recommend Kajabi. You’ll be in good company with some of the world’s leading entrepreneurs, and no matter how big your brand gets, Kajabi will have the ability to handle it!
